Hi all xxx
I did a blog a few months ago asking for your first memories of crossdressing and that got me thinking recently talking to a fellow member about certain films/tv/music videos that a male character was in drag/female appearance and the effect it had on you as a kid or older.
My first memories were watching curse of the pink panther..one of the first scenes shows the lead character disguised as a “lady of the night” to catch a mugger…I remember watching it and I was mesmerised..I couldn’t take my eyes off him as he looked stunning ..also I remember watching a vhs tape repeatedly because it had the trailer for There Rocky horror picture show and I constantly rewound it so that I could see Tim curry as frank..again I was stunned at how good a man could look in makeup and heels haha.
Also they were music videos I was addicted to aswell especially two from Queen “I want to break free” and “The great pretender”…both Freddie and Roger stood out with me as again how could a man look so gorgeous as a female..at a very early age I knew I was different but also knew I liked girls..A LOT!! lol…it’s strange how these things stand out and have an effect on you at an early age and then you realise later on in life it was your first experience of seeing who you really are inside.
Obviously these men who I’ve mentioned weren’t cross dressers in our sense of the word but they weren’t afraid to push boundaries and say it’s ok to be feminine and be fabulous.
Love you all Vicky xxxxx

One of my favourite movies about crossdressing was To Wong Fo with Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes and the little Chi Chi. I also watched the Crying Game and was drawn to the story immediately. Those were my big ones.
One of my more significant memories, other than watching Bugs Bunny as a child when he would dress as a woman, occurred when I was*****I was watching the Carol Burnett Show, and she had a female impersonator doing Barbara Streisand. I was mesmerized as the cameras did close-ups of her. I tried on my first dress the following Saturday night!
I love this post. For me it was David Bowie and of course Tim Curry!
Yellow Dancer from the tv show Robotech
Growing up of a certain age we had a number of female impersonations, Hinge & Bracket, Stanley Baxter. Dick Emery all very clever and well observed characters. Later on Les Dawson & Roy Baraclough as Sissy & Ada and god bless him Kenny Everett's Cupid Stunt in the best possible taste!! I guess being exposed to them on television sparked something along with Dad muttering under his breath about queers etc. In pop culture the various versions of Early Bowie and Boy George all sparked something too. I probably got into a more androgynous look with 80s glam rock. Who wouldn't fancy Michael Monroe or Bret Michaels, it made it easier to wear more female clothes and experiment with make up and hair.
I exactly had the seem feeling when watching "I want to break free", watching Freddy Mercury wearing nylons and the short leather skirt, and I though "how cool is that!" (without the moustache would have been cooler though
) It is a shame that when showbizz has man wearing boots (kiss/Abba/...) or female-ish outfits, it's ok, but not outside of that territory. Society is regrettably rather hypocritical about that, though some countries, Phils, Thailand, ... have more affection for and accept much easier crossdressers or Tgirls. I think some CD's make really attractive woman, sometimes it's difficult to tell the difference, or look even better than some woman these days. I'm still into woman, and often feel they are more attracted to me when I am "en femme". Some woman really love CD's (and I love them back). Enjoy your femininity! x Maila
