Privacy by Design has evolved alongside ClubCrossDressing.
When ClubCrossDressing launched in 2009, member profiles were presented much as they were on many online communities at the time. As technology, member expectations and online safety standards evolved, so did our approach to privacy.
In 2016, following a major platform upgrade, we introduced further member privacy controls, allowing members to choose who could view their profiles and information. New accounts have continued to default to the Everyone privacy setting, with members free to choose more restrictive privacy options if they prefer.
In 2025, following the introduction of the UK’s Online Safety Act, we carried out a further review of how member content was presented to visitors. Rather than introducing mandatory age verification for all visitors, we chose to strengthen our existing privacy measures by reducing the amount of member content visible before a visitor signs in.
As a result, profile photos and certain profile information are now visually blurred for visitors who are not logged in. Visitors who wish to view member profiles in full are required to register or sign in before doing so. We also introduced measures intended to discourage search engines from indexing member profile images.
These changes were designed to provide members with an additional layer of privacy, reduce casual public exposure, and reduce the likelihood of member profile images appearing in public image search results.
No website can guarantee complete privacy. Once information is shared online, there is always some level of risk. For that reason, members can control who can see their profile through their privacy settings, and we encourage everyone to review those settings regularly.
How We Help Protect Your Privacy
- We use noarchive controls to help reduce the likelihood of search engines storing cached copies of member profile pages.
- Profile photos shown to visitors who are not logged in are visually blurred by default to help reduce casual public exposure.
- Visitors are encouraged to sign up or log in before viewing member content fully.
- We use noimageindex instructions to help reduce the likelihood of member profile photos appearing in image search results.
- Members can control profile visibility and who can interact with them.
- We provide blocking, reporting, and moderation tools to help keep the community safer.
- We discourage posting personal contact details in public areas.
Search Engines and Public Visibility
While ClubCrossDressing provides privacy tools and visual protections to help members manage their visibility, no online service can guarantee complete privacy or prevent all forms of copying, indexing, archiving or redistribution.
When someone visits ClubCrossDressing without logging in, profile photos and some profile information are blurred. This helps prevent casual visitors from easily browsing member profiles and provides an extra layer of privacy. The blur helps reduce casual viewing, but your privacy settings are what determine who can view your profile and information. If privacy is important to you, we recommend reviewing these settings after you register. The actual visibility of profile information is determined by the privacy settings selected for the account.
New accounts are initially set to “Everyone”. Members who prefer greater privacy should review and change their privacy settings after registering.
If a profile is set to “Everyone”, content may be accessible to visitors, search engines, automated services, and other third parties. Members who require greater privacy should review and adjust their privacy settings accordingly.
We also take additional steps to help protect member discretion. Profile photos are not intended to appear in image search results, and we discourage long-term caching or archiving of profile pages by search engines and third-party archive services where possible.
These measures help reduce the likelihood of outdated profile content or deleted images remaining publicly accessible over time.
Privacy Tools and Settings
Your privacy settings help control who can view your profile and interact with you. Depending on your settings, your profile may be visible to everyone, registered members, friends, or only yourself.
Privacy Settings
If you want maximum privacy, we recommend reviewing your privacy settings and avoiding identifiable photos, real names, workplace details, home addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, or social media handles.
Account Health Check
ClubCrossDressing includes an Account Health Check tool that helps members review important privacy and account settings. We encourage members to review these settings periodically, especially if their circumstances or privacy requirements change.
The tool can help identify settings that may affect profile visibility, interaction preferences and other privacy-related options, allowing members to make informed decisions about how they appear within the community.
Important Note
No online platform can guarantee complete privacy or anonymity. Search engines, screenshots, archived copies, and third-party services may operate independently of ClubCrossDressing and remain outside our direct control.
Our goal is to provide practical privacy protections, reduce unnecessary exposure, and give members meaningful control over what they choose to share.
