Thoughts for any particular day

I often wonder what is the reason I am here and why is it I stay here. By "here" I do not necessarily mean this particular site, but within the overall transgender community while trying to maintain what few friends I have and trying to make new friends.

I am NOT here for sex, but I know many will not believe that because a majority of the males are here for that. Therefore why should anyone think I am any different. But as I posted elsewhere, people like me are in a Catch 22 situation because of it.

This has, it would appear, resulted in the ultimate situation I have found elsewhere, and now finding here, that the general opinion appears to be that we "are all the same". My opinion is, I believe, enforced by some of the profiles I have read;

"No males" - I appreciate that and accept it it. I will respect that person wish and not contact them, although I know that many of the trolls will ignore the request and continue to do so.

"Any male contacting me will be blocked" - As above, I will respect that person's wish but many others will not.

"All males will be blocked" - Again, as above, I will respect that person's wish and not make any contact, although until I view their profile, I am not able to see this. This is where I start to get upset. This is surely the situation where someone is considering that "we are all the same".

However, the ultimate insult is being blocked by someone without any warning. This usually comes in two ways. First, after I have looked at someone's profile, I get blocked even though their profile states nothing about "no males", etc. Second, the profile is blocked to all males before I can even look at it.

I do accept, that many do not wish to have any contact with any male whatsoever. But I have seen elsewhere the statement "Law abiding people don't need rules to do the right thing whereas the non-law abiding people will ignore the rules".

I realise that it is difficult to accept that some of us genuinely just want social friendship, either online or even in person. I know that there will always be concerns about any male, often based on someone's personal experience. But there will come a time when the good will just give up, and the only males around will be those who are the very same people you are trying to stay away from.

I know there is no easy answer, but I have reached the conclusion that I do not see any reason to stay.
