In the land of sun and storms, where magnolias thrive despite the thorns, I walk a path both shadowed and bright, a trans woman standing tall in her fight.
The air is thick with judgment’s weight, laws and whispers shaping fate. They tell me I don’t belong, but I’ve learned to dance to my own song.
The mirror reflects a dream come true, a self I’ve fought to pull into view.Yet every step on this heated sand feels like defiance, a bold demand.
The world around me casts its stare, but I’ve found my armor in love and care. My voice, once trembled, now resounds, claiming space where courage abounds.
It’s not easy in this swampy state, where politics and prejudice dictate. But roots grow deep in Florida’s clay, and I bloom in my truth every day.
For every insult, there’s a sunrise glow, for every battle, a strength I know. I’ve found my worth in the storm’s embrace, a phoenix rising in this hostile place.
So let the heat and the lightning rage; I’ll write my story on life’s broad stage. Difficult, yes—but the cost is clear:to live as myself is worth every tear.
