Well, most of us girls crave crossdressing fun, but often cannot experience it regularly. So we bide our time until our loved ones are out and we have time to ourself.
I call this time ‘Precious Time.’ Recently I had a chance to dress a bit how I wanted to. So [enter girly name] woke up for a few hours. Straight away, the men’s clothing was off to be replaced with panties and a maxi skirt. It felt so great to be able to wear what I wanted to wear. I’m sure most of us girls feel this way.
I also was happy that I hadn’t put on any weight and my lovely skirt fitted like a glove! I’m so grateful for this. Anyway, it was fun doing chores in the house in a skirt, and after a while it felt like normal.
I decided to be a bit more adventurous and put on a pair of faux leather pants and went for a walk. So I walked locally for 20 minutes. To me it was obvious that the pants were women pants. I think the rear zip generally gives it away!
However, I passed a number of people on my walk and no one said anything. I even walked past some builders expecting some name calling or similar - but they didn’t even glance twice.
I got home and slipped on my skirt again. I realised that often people won’t care what you are wearing when out and about. We crossdressers are very cautious when in public. Maybe we are too cautious and need to let the reign slip a bit now and then!

I occasionally go out dressed to a gay bar or club. I have been several times on my own, but prefer to go with a friend
This is what I call my own 'Precious Time' lexy. I have to be extra careful as I am never alone for long due to my 'Caring' duties, although I came out to my wife a few Years ago, she was neither impressed nor hostile, she simply just didn't acknowledge my trait. So I have never dressed in her presence and so our 52 Years of marriage are quite solid and safe. My way of coping with the urge is to dress in lingerie or vet thin blouses, dresses and skirts etc. under the boring manly clobber. My happiest dressing time was when I became self employed and my wife was a full time office Manager which gave me the freedom to roam around various Malls fully dressed without a care in the World.......Ah Yes.....Memories

My following “statement” should be NOT be viewed as all inclusive because everyone’s life decisions are guided by so many circumstances.
I do think we often place “self restrictions” on expressing our feminine personas in public. Often we are concerned about how we will be perceived when the reality is- often no one cares about our expressions.
Each of us must deal with “where & when or if” we should follow our dreams.
We must all be aware of whether our locals are safe. I find that larger cities are usually more progressive and more accepting and when traveling I always stay at LGBTQ+ friendly hotels and same for bars and restaurants. I often shy away from rural places as they are often more “conservative”.
I’m not suggesting a “one size fits all” for us babes- I can’t wait for more and more of the younger generations to begin to get involved politically as I find they are by and large wonderfully accepting people.
A few years ago I reached a point where I was confident enough to travel by car, exit, and walk up paths/driveways to friends houses. Last year I visited a friend who lived in a quiet street of terraced houses, and had to park about 50ft. away on the opposite side. Having crossed the street and walked to the door, while waiting to be admitted a lady, with a young child walked by within touching distance. Neither of them took any particular notice of me.
From memory, I was wearing a blouse, above knee skirt, short leather coat, 5" stilettos, and carrying a clutch bag. I haven't yet learned the art of makeup application, but when I do I hope to be fully passable at close quarters in public areas.
I agree with what your saying about people not caring what you wear in public. I have lovely skinny high waisted skinny jeans that I wear out with a black Pu over shirt. It feels very nice doing this. The question is for us all what's your limit to wear when out? Myself, I haven't had the guts to go out fully fem due to being self conscious, I really want to do it some day xxx
