Recently I have been making daily trips to the local hospital visiting my sick wife. My world stopped for a few minutes when the doctor asked if they should resuscitate her if the worst happened but she is still fighting and improving slowly some two weeks later. Yesterday one of the nurses said that I looked good and another said that my make-up was better than she does. That made me feel good. Today one nurse said she loved the way I matched my eye shadow with the colour of my pullover. She also said she liked the way I wore pastel colours.

I felt ten feet tall. I never thought I did my make-up well. Perhaps practice is working but it's feels strange to get compliments in hospital with my wife laid in a bed the otherside of sheet of glass.

Perhaps every cloud does have a silver lining.
